PowerBox Champion RRS
The PowerBox Champion RRS is one of the most popular products in our range. Since
its introduction in Spring 2004 this programmable power supply unit has been enjoying
an unstoppable campaign of success with modellers all over the globe, not least due to
its three fully variable channels. All the top pilots all over the globe now fly using this
power supply system, and World Championships for virtually all classes have been won
with it. We are proud to have made a small contribution to these resounding successes.
With its ultra-simple, user-friendly and accurate method of adjusting servos, the
PowerBox Champion RRS offers the model pilot wide-ranging facilities for finetuning
control sequences in his models. For many years the integrated servo adjustment
facilities of the PowerBox Champion made the unit unique in the whole model
market. When this innovatory system was introduced in Spring 2004, our electronics
experts had no idea that this important and advanced product would still be a market
leader in 2008.
The PowerBox Champion has a proven record of reliability, and we have again
upgraded it to incorporate the RRS module (Redundant Receiver System), also
developed by PowerBox Systems.
In so doing we have provided the model pilot with the opportunity to complement the
redundant power supply in his models by installing two redundant receivers of his
choice - no matter which type of receiver, which transmission mode and which frequency.
The unit also caters for what are now known as 7.0 Volt servos: the servo voltage of the
PowerBox Champion RRS can be freely selected as 5.9 Volts or 7.0 Volts.
The heat-sinks and both linear regulators for the servo voltage have been designed to
suit the new generation of servos, some of which offer output torques of 25 kp, and
therefore draw commensurately high currents.
All accessories previously supplied in the set can still be used: the popular and ultra-safe
electronic switches - the SensorSwitches - and the adjustor board required for adjusting
the servos.
The two receivers are connected using sixteen patch-leads.
The comprehensive adjustment facilities for three control channels are particularly
important with F3A-X class model aircraft, as they often feature multiple servos coupled
to each control surface. The ultra-precise electronic servo adjustment provided by the
PowerBox Champion RRS enables them to exploit their full potential power and
transit speed; at the same time they also draw considerably less current than servos
adjusted by mechanical means.
